INVISIBLE CITIES 21

Invisible Cities is a novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino. The work explores fantasy and insight into the human psyche through the descriptions of towns by an explorer, Marco Polo. The book's core comprises short prose poems describing fifty-five fictional cities told by Polo, many of which can be regarded as tales or musings on culture, language, time, memory, death, or the nature of human experience.

I built collages while reading each section, allowing the visuals of the towns to simmer. The design also has a 'reveal,' inspired mainly by Bruno Munari. The reader can absorb the text and experience my interpretation of the literary imagery.
